The Cine Monlevade was built by the Companhia Siderúrgica Belgo Mineira in the 1940s.

It was located in the centre of the company's industrial town and attracted many residents with several international screenings.

The Cinema was later demolished by the company for the expansion of the steel plant.

Today, the city of João Monlevade has no cinema.
